Hello everybody! Today we are reviewing Aron’s Absurd Armada by Misun Kim! This four panel styled series is chibi cutesy and entertaining, poking fun at the exaggerated personalities and characteristics of the characters. The story basically follows Aron and his crew of misfits who sail the seas as pirates. The convoluted synopsis at the back and the adorable cast of characters on the front cover was what drew me to check out this manga.
“We are pirates…
Yup, we are totally pirates…
Whatever anyone may think, we are definitely pirates…
We have a captain, a crew (?), and even Robin, so we are absolutely pirates…”
Captain Aron is a brainless idiot, and Robin only loves money, but we are still pirates… Sailing in search of treasure (or not), we are unquestionably pirates…
So, in conclusion, we are pirates…!”
For some reason it takes me forever to get through four panel-styled mangas. After thoroughly enjoying Lucky Star a few years ago, I thought this would be the perfect light-read for me. If you’re looking for a light-lazy-slightly moe-comedic read, this band of pirates might just strike your fancy!
