Song Spotlight – Wasting All These Tears

Hi everyone! Today we’re reviewing an amazing new single called “Wasting All These Tears” by Cassadee Pope. I am really excited because I loved her in Hey Monday and I was a fan of her on The Voice. I’m thrilled that she’s finally emerging as a solo artist and signature music style. It looks like the days of pop punk and rock are behind her. Her new song tells the story of the vulnerability behind heartbreak and the immense strength it takes to pick yourself up again. The opening lines really spoke to me and I think the lyrics will impress her old fans as well as attract a lot of new fans.

“I tried to find you at the bottom of a bottle. Laying down on the bathroom floor…”

The song begins with soulful plucking on the acoustic before it transitions into soft guitar ballads. I think her time on the Voice really helped her grow as an artist especially with (the amazing) Blake Shelton as her coach. She has a really unique voice and it fits great with this new country style that she’s going with. Though there is country, the touch of rock and intense background sounds reminiscent of her loud Hey Monday days.

What’s amazing about Cassadee’s as an artist is that she’s not only experienced in the studio, she can also sing LIVE and it sounds good. Just last night she performed her single on the Voice… Check it out!

Her debut album is to be released in autumn of this year and with the lead single being so strong, I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album! Hope you guys liked this quickie single spotlight! Thank you so much for reading and I will talk to you guys soon!
