The episode begins with a flashback in Hiroshima with Eba attempting to make the bentos for lunch and trying to ride a bike. Eba and Haruto are spending more and more time together leading other students at school to believe that they’re dating. Haruto comes to the conclusion that Kanzaki will never feel that way about him and tells Eba that she doesn’t need to learn how to bike on her own because he will continue to take her to school. Eba reveals that her motive behind learning chores was to grab Haruto’s attention (which succeeded). She confesses that she has feelings for Haruto…
Back at the house, looking at old photos with Haruto’s friends, they notice a girl resembling Eba in one of the summer festival photos. Later, Haruto checks his old journals for the festival entry and it turns out that he really did meet Eba at the festival. I didn’t quite believe it when I saw the previews from last week’s episode depicting a little Eba and Haruto at the festival together but apparently it’s true… When Eba was a kid, her father took her to the summer festival in Hiroshima. She got lost and met Haruto. Before she left she told him that if anything happened, she’d return.
All the events are just a little bit coincidental for me, bordering on fairy-tale like. What do you guys think? Could this really happen to two people in real life? Meeting as kids, the girl going to find the guy, they get together, girl leaves, etc, etc.
The number of episodes haven’t been determined yet for this series so we can’t be sure if we’re even halfway through the story. All the secrets seem to continuously drag on. The saving grace for this episode was really the back story between Eba and Haruto. Hopefully in the next episode, everything comes to light and Haruto reaches acceptance or some sort of resolve with his feelings for Eba.
