For an otome game based show that’s mostly fanservice for many of the fans, this episode was surprisingly touching. It explores a bit more of the whole family and sense of belonging theme that comes with it especially since Chi finds out that she’s actually her father’s adopted daughter.
To be honest, I’m not entirely sure why Chi is so adamant on not returning home because she’s known for a long time that her brothers aren’t really her relatives, so what’s the problem with returning to the apartment? I would think her only issue is with seeing her father. Luckily, Natsume finds her in the park and lets her stay in his apartment for the night. Natsume’s pets are adorable – Azusa and Tsubaki neko 😉
I loved seeing Louis care for Chi as an older brother because he’s also adopted by Miwa. And even though he does kiss her on the cheek, it’s nice to see him being a solid familial support system for Chi.
The whole thing with human Juli meeting Chi in her dreams was a little weird (but I guess, so is a talking squirrel). I totally thought Juli was a girl! His squirrel form is definitely misleading. But I have to admit, the Protect Chi Club is super sweet. I’m not sure what was the point of making Juli a human… except confuse the heck out of us but I guess we’ll have to keep watching to see…
I hope you guys enjoyed this review. I’m not really sure of how I feel about BroCon up this point in the story. I don’t think it’s really standing up to the other otome anime I’ve watched. What do you guys think? Feel free to leave a comment below! Thanks for reading!
