Kill La Kill Full OP 2 – Ambiguous by GARNiDELiA- FULL SONG AND LYRICS

Hey Kill La Kill fans! Today I have a real treat for you guys. With a wonderful fellow blogger, Yumi Kajima from Doors of Melody and my lovely up and coming translator and friend, Haley Fitzgerald, we’ve put together the Romaji and English translated lyrics for Kill La Kill’s second opening, “Ambigious” by GARNiDELiA.

Kill La Kill OP 2 (5)

It’s a super catchy song and I really wanted to feature it because the full version of the song was officially released last week. I really think this song applies both to Ryuko and Satsuki, what with all the reveals and twists in the plot. The lyrics are tailored to fit the context of the story perfectly and reflect the resolve of both main characters. Also meaningful on their own, I thought Haley’s translation really brought out the sentiment of the Japanese lyrics while bringing us smoothly into an English translation that captures the passion behind the lyrics. I hope you guys enjoy the meaning of the lyrics and I hope the Romanji helps you sing along.

Ambiguous (English)– translated by Haley Fitzgerald

After severing the thread that fate had intended for me…

Verse 1:

I went beyond what I can do

In a confined world covered in blisters

I walk down the runway

Hiding that fact behind my smile

But you always

Saw through me

It’s the first time this has happened, so I’m at a loss

Chorus:

No one else can rock that outfit

An unexplainable fever seizes my heart

So after reining in the threads of fate

Now a new dawn breaks

Verse 2:

All the while with numb fingers, I searched

For the answer to a brilliant world

But it reflected back at me

From my teacup the entire time

The burning temperature

Is too sweet and also bitter

So let’s drink up all of our own flavours

Chorus 2:

The unexplainable fever that you taught me that day

Streams down my cheeks

After intertwining our respective feelings

Now a new dawn breaks

Bridge:

I just want to protect this dear world

That’s my one and only crazy desire

But my tiniest strand of hope is for you to be by my side right now

Chorus and Ending:

No one else can rock that outfit

An unexplainable fever seizes my heart

So after reining in the threads of fate

Look, the future will continue forever

The unexplainable fever that you taught me again today

Streams down my cheeks

After intertwining our respective wishes

Now a new dawn breaks

Surely there’s only one thing on my mind
