UGHHHHHH why did it turn out to be SOOOO clichéd. Maybe this is just me but I hate the clone vs. original types of plots where the clone is trying to take over the original’s life and have a normal girl life. I really found this episode of Fate Kaleid REALLY exasperating to watch.
The coolest part of this episode was probably the beginning where Rin was interrogating Kuro and finally put a curse on the girl so Illya can kill Kuro but Kuro can’t kill Illya. Really cool magic animation and really great comedy follow up to lighten the mood.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the Fate world but I guess I enjoyed season 1 more than season 2 right now because there was a lot more magic girl action in the first season.
Kuro is much more promiscuous and honest about her motivations and dispositions. Whereas Illya can be pretty timid and unconfident, Kuro seems to exhibit all of the things Illya tries to repress. This is especially prominent when it comes to their interactions with Shiro. Well, it kind of suck that Illya has to hurt herself in order to hurt Kuro but I guess it’s a fair trade off when Kuro is constantly harassing the people close to Illya.
I’m acutally a lot more interested in Miyu right now because when Miyu first sees Shiro, she hugs him on impulse because he apparently looks like her former older brother. I’m really curious about Miyu’s back story and I hope it gets flushed out as much as Illya’s does.
Things take a turn for the worst when Kuro appears at Illya’s school and starts kissing all her friends… including Taiga. LOL. Kuro ends up being introduced as Illy’s COUSIN. And well. I’m sure this’ll get better… or worse for Illya haha.
There is A LOT of yuri hinted here partially because of Kuro’s bold personality and partially because Kuro needs to kiss people in order to replenish her mana. Kuro hates Illya because if it wasn’t for Kuro, Illya wouldn’t be given the luxury of a normal life. Still, I’d rather have Kuro explain everything to Illya upfront and vent in her face rather than go through these shady actions to get revenge. BUT we wouldn’t have a story to tell if all the characters were super honest. Plus we’re getting tons of hilarious Illya scenes which vastly amuse me.
