Illya is pretty unsettled by the fact that Kuro is invading her daily life. I guess since Kuro sort of came from Illya, she knows everything Illya does but would that give her enough knowledge to unlock magic locks? She’s pretty straightforward when it comes to what she wants.
It’s interesting that the story found a way for Illya and Kuro to unleash their antagonisms to each other even with a simple dodge ball match. The dodge ball match actually starts off with Illya’s friends challenging Kuro to dodge ball to “reclaim their honour” after Kuro stole ALL of their first kisses.
I get the sense that Ruby is having a lot of fun witnessing the whole “clone vs. original” plot tropes in the show but it’s not hard to sympathize with Illya who has to go through all this trouble because Kuro has suddenly appeared. She ends up challenging Kuro to a one-on-one dodge ball match to finish off the game. I liked seeing Illya use her magic girl powers to fight Kuro and enhance her physical strength to kick ass in the game. IT ALL GETS PRETTY INTENSE and I’m surprised the bystanders haven’t realized SOMETHING is totally unnatural about these two girls.
The comedy in this show is OUTSTANDING. It’s just so hilarious. The supporting characters are over-exaggerated, Illya has the cutest expressions, Miyu has pretty random reactions – even the nurse, Caren Hortensia is just a contradiction to the entire setting. Caren does have a pretty kind personality but she seriously has the most sadistic quirks so her character is pretty unique. She naturally notices something different about Kuro.
If Kuro wants to desperately to live a normal life I wish she would just go her own way and live as her own existence. Trying to ruin Illya’s life just because of something her parents arranged in the past (see back story) isn’t really living her own life. Rather its perpetuating the fact that she was originally a part of Illya. Though I can understand how Kuro is struggling with some identity issues… well, things will just get even more antagonistic between the two. I can’t wait till Miyu takes charge of the situation. Miyu is sort of caught in the middle for now because there seems to be SOME hint about her past which helps her relate to Kuro perhaps? At the end of the episode both Miyu and Kuro are eavesdropping on Illya and Shirou’s close sibling exchange…
