Fate Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 2wei Episode 7 Review

Fate Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 2wei Episode 7 (4)

Rating: 3/5 happy clouds Crop_3 Clouds Transparent

Another really fun-filled family episode in with Fate Kaleid Liner this week. Kuro is officially integrated into the Einzbern household. The theme of the show is cooking, the recipe is pound cake, the conflict is sibling-love, and the prize? A kiss from Shiro.

Kuro sweeps in with Miyu and Mimi on her Home Economics team, leaving the clumsiest of the bunch in one group… You would think they’d want to tie up Tatsuko for all their troubles. (Oh wait they did)

Kuro looks way cute in that home EC outfits though. I wonder where Miyu learned to make cake like that. But you know, cooking isn’t all about looks. According to Illya, it’s not even about measured amounts… COOKING IS ABOUT LOVE!! (LOL)

Well, Illya does win in the end against Kuro, partially due to her history with Shiro where she agreed to eat Shiro’s bad cooking way back when he couldn’t cook at all. I loved the quick sibling flashback. It’s nice to see Illya get a one-up on Kuro and Illya does end up getting a kiss from Shiro… even though Sella proceeds to beat the sh** out of him for being a Lolison and Siscon but… it was sweet while it lasted HAHAHA.

The second half of the episode has to do with Illya and Kuro’s competitions for the title of “Onee-chan” which basically means they’re fighting for a higher rank around the house. Man, Mama Iri should really write her own book on parenting. Sometimes I think Iri’s family interventions cause my comedy than resolution. After quite a few antics and weird uh… hairstyles, Illya and Kuro finally end up having an end of the day heart to heart.

Not sure if Fate Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya is trying to set itself up as a somewhat serious magic girl show in season 2 or if it was always just joking around. The previews for next week’s episode look pretty intense though so we can look forward to more Fate world magic versus classroom fun. I kind of miss seeing Illya and Miyu in their magic girl battles. Other than that, there isn’t that much to say about this week’s episode. It was a nice breather between the girls where they’re somewhat trying to get along versus directly trying to kill each other. I really wonder if Kiritsugu is going to show up at any point in this anime because as Shiro says, there is an imbalance of gender ratios in this house hahaha.
