I LITERALLY SAW THE KYUBEY EYES AND KNEW SHAFT WAS DOING SOME MAGIC GIRL CROSSOVER OMG SHAFT YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!! Even the opening sequence is SUCH A TREAT!!!
I love how Onodera’s one long piece of hair transforms into a long highlighted spiral.
Somehow I feel like the girls had a bit too much fun with this episode as well. I love how all the animal sidekicks are actually best friend supporting characters. Since a magic girl’s image and talents manifest according to that specific magic girl, it’s not surprising that Chitoge would get magical gorilla girl LOLL
Sidenote 1: OMG TSUGUMI IS SO ADORABLE AS A MAGIC GIRL AHHH
The leader ends up being decided based on rock-paper-scizzors and unfortunately for the other girls, Onodera ends up being leader, the center of attention and the story ahahahaha all the parody jokes at magic girl shows. But DAMN the leader has a lot of day to day administrative paperwork and tedious behind the scenes official procedures to handle.
LOL THE EVIL MONSTER MINION IS SO CUTE. WHAT IS THIS CLASSIC MONSTER-CITY-SUPER HERO SET UP
OMG what is this naked magic girl fan service for the guys =.=”””
BUT JUST WHEN YOU THINK the minion has been defeated, THE ANTAGONIST DR. MAIKO APPEARS. Plot twist! We meet the man plotting for world domination with all his minions… or not. Cause he’s actually just a magic girl prevent and wants to meet cute girls. Thanks to Rurin’s quick-thinking Dr. Maiko is quickly taken care of. Poor Onodera though, all the embarrassment as a magical girl…
The episode ends on a TOTALLY ABRUPT END because we get a to-be-continued kind of cliff-hanger before we switch back into the Onodera storyline. During an Onodera family meeting in which the sweets shop is once again short of hands, Mrs. Onodera proceeds to invite Raku back to the shop to help. OH ALL THE HOSTILITY FROM HARU!!!! While Onodera attempts to make peace between the two, she ends up leaving both of them in the kitchen together which does NOT end well. I do feel bad for Haru because Raku saw her underwear twice BUT it wasn’t COMPLETELY his fault. I mean, anyone would be surprised caught in that really awkward situation. At least Raku is understanding of how protective Haru is of her sister.
In order to garner himself some points, Raku reveals that he was the one who saved Haru on her first day. However Haru REALLY doesn’t trust him with ANYTHING. Later, it’s Raku’s perceptive little comments that get through to Haru just a little bit and after ALL the initial clashing, Haru comes to acknowledge Raku just a little bit. They end up bonding over cooking techniques and recipes ahahahahahah HOW CUTE.
Sidenote 3: OMG Haru really needs to get better with guys. She’s so utterly awkward.
And in the end, ALL the treats fall and even trays get snapped. OMG what was this unproductive entire episode amounting to? Entertaining for sure but a bit awkwardly paced. I would have really preferred to see an entire magic girl parody episode rather than this clunky switch midway. Moreover, Haru and Raku really didn’t get anywhere with all that pandering around in the kitchen. Sure, Haru had like three seconds worth of patience with Raku but her current opinion of him is too set in stone for small gestures to change all of a sudden. Hopefully episode nine next week will be more advantageous to the plot.
