S**T HITS THE FAN THIS EPISODE when Yu meets with Mika on the battlefield. Both are dumbstruck and utterly unprepared for this. The battle breaks out between Shinoa’s unit and the noble vampires. Mika forcibly takes Yu away but as Yu struggles, watching his friends become livestock to the vampires, he loses control and the part that Asuramaru (his demon sword) warned him of, comes alive.
Yu turns into a monstrous half creature with a HELL of a lot of power. Everyone seems pretty shocked at this new development but Guren is almost unimpressed. For the first time, we see a human keep a noble on his toes, boasting enough strength to retaliate and knock him back.
When Shinoa regains consciousness, Yu is approaching her menacingly. Guren encourages Shinoa to bring Yu back from the brink of demonic madness. Just as Shinoa is about to be stabbed by Yu, Mika jumps in the middle and takes the stab for her. Mika’s injury won’t heal and we’re running out of time. Surprisingly, Shinoa brings Yu back and OMG ALL THE SHINOA X YU SHIPS AHHHH
“Why has Mika come to hate humans so much?” is the current question. What does Guren know about the experimentation? And how much more will we get before the finale because A WHOLE NEW CAN OF WORMS has been opened up with this episode. Arguably, this is when it finally starts to get interesting. Even Ferid seems a bit concerned when another upper commander and his reinforcements arrive.
Seraph of the End desperately needs a second season… and a better animation budget to go with the amount of action that the combat and fantasy elements require. There is only ONE MORE EPISODE. WHAT IS THIS SUDDEN REVEAL. GAHHH season one is definitely going to leave us on a cliff-hanger. Better luck powering through the story in the original manga.

What are you pondering today?
Yo, Owari no Seraph is confirmed to be split cour, so all this tension building makes sense – what audience do you think this is aimed at what with all the fabtastic yaoi undertones? just curious 🙂
I think the yaoi undertones are great for fans who specifically look for those elements but there is enough action and plot for regular shonen action fans as well so I’d really recommend this series to everyone =P I actually didn’t even pick out any yaoi undertones until you pointed it out haha XDD
