Junjou Romantica Season 3 Episode 1 Impressions

Junjou Romantica Season 3Rating: 3.5/5 happy clouds Crop_35 Clouds Transparent

Ahhhhh how nice it feels to return to a fluffy fun yaoi series like Junjou Romantica. Our adorable uke, Misaki Takahashi is a university sudent living with the famous, gorgeous and talented author, Akihiko Usami. Misaki’s biggest love issue seems to be the prospect of potentially moving out of the apartment because he’ll be taking advantage of his Usagi-san’s kindness by overstaying. Unfortunately for Misaki he hasn’t completely come to terms with his feelings for Usagi-san yet… yet. Misaki is pondering his future plans in the next few years as he nears graduation while Usagi-san has decided to come clean about their relationship to Misaki’s older brother. OMG the inner Misaki monologue panic…

Aside from the fast-paced emotional build-up and conflict, Misaki ends up winning a contest to an autograph signing by his favourite author. Usagi-san is pretty adamant on keeping Misaki from heading to Fukuoka. Their little couples spat starts here… but Usagi-san, like all other domninant seme characters in the series are rather dominant and protective.

Mizuki, Usagi-san’s cousin ends up staying over at the apartment. Mizuki has a PRETTY BAD regard of Misaki… ooh, more drama. Sweeties it’s only episode one and things have already heated up. Mizuki’s overbearing enthusiasm for Usagi-san actually reminds me a lot of Usagi-san’s own stubborn personality regarding Misaki and romance. Misaki ends up being JUST A LITTLE BIT jealous of their relationship.

Season three will be a continuation of the events we saw in the prior seasons, a lot of slice of life every day romance and boys love between all the characters. I’m ecstatic to see more of my favourite boys love series because the comedy is A+ and the slice of life never dull. If anything I’m just excited for all the fluid new animation for this series and its characters.
