Akagami no Shirayuki-hime Episode 2 Review

After the initial hectic episode with Shirayuki and the idiot Prince Raj of Tanbarun, Shirayuki’s settled comfortably in Wistal pursuing her career as an herbalist. Everything is peaceful for her in the big city and despite the fact that she’s from an entirely different culture, she doesn’t do too bad adjusting to this new life. She endeavours to take the herbalist exam to become an official palace herbalist. A new country brings her a new world of herbs she’s never seem before. Her curious nature brings her to a little mountain.

Zen accompanies Shirayuki into town and sends her off on a boat for her herbalist research. I can see why Zen would be concerned over the attention that Shirayuki’s hair draws to her presence. Shirayuki certainly seems too lax over her well-being and ends up being kidnapped. A red-haired girl wanted by both princes certainly goes for a high price in the market. Somehow I feel like Shirayuki needs to learn self-defence but of course when Zen finds out she’s disappeared, he charges off to save her. Luckily, she’s clever enough to escape on her own and even locks her captor back in the prison where she was once held.

Shirayuki is pretty resilient even in the face of her menacing captor’s threats. Zen arrives at the scene forth swift and BEATS THE CRAP out of him. Weird character monologue and interlude with Mihaya who ends up arrested once they return to town. Don’t worry, he’s a character that will return later.

AHHHH all the cute Shirayuki and Zen moments. THEY ARE SO ADORABLE and Zen always seems to say all the right things to Shirayuki. They’re conversations are so warm on a regular basis and so intimate when they have a moment you almost can’t help but blush when you watch. I’m quite intrigued with this couple and I can’t wait to watch more of Shirayuki’s adventures.Akagami no Shirayuki-hime Episode 2 (31)
