Absolute Duo Episode 12 Review & Final Thoughts

Rating: 3.5/5 complacent clouds Absolute Duo is back another week picking up on the action (despite its poorly coordinated animation). Seriously, I imagined Julie moving more swiftly like a dancer and less like a jumpy chibi. The battle amps up … Continue reading

Absolute Duo Episode 10 and 11 Review

OMG who thought of the names for the characters in this show? I can’t even- Really Absolute Duo. I expected more from the conclusion of the series. But y’all decided to make use of the emotionally insecure busty girl for … Continue reading

Absolute Duo Episode 8 & 9 Review

Episode 8 Rating: 3/5 complacent clouds … It was a beach episode… and A LOT of ecchi scenes. It explores a bit of Miyabi’s feelings for Thor but when you see how attached Thor is to Julie… well, it doesn’t … Continue reading

Absolute Duo Episode 6 & 7 Review

Episode 6 Rating: 3.5/5 curious clouds This week’s episode of Absolute Duo encapsulates Lilith’s entire “Survival Dance” game. She easily takes out all the other students and I wonder if it’s even fair that they put such an OP character … Continue reading

Absolute Duo Episode 5 Review

I am tackling two Absolute Duo episodes in a row this week and episode five set the story back on track with the serious Blaze business. She’s an exception alright… and a slightly creepy one at that. While polishing her … Continue reading

Absolute Duo Episode 4 Review

This episode was just strangely paced. Really awkwardly paced… it tried to do too many things at once in too many settings and came off as pretty scattered. The ecchi is seriously too in my face all the time. I … Continue reading

Absolute Duo Episode 3 Review

Cloudy Says… Thoughts on the Winter Season (2015) Thus Far…

Banner Third Design

Hey guys, here’s an unusual Cloudy Says but today I wanted to talk a bit about the winter season in general. This season throws us a pretty unusual selections of anime in general and after watching quite a few of the pilot episodes and dipping my toes in a variety of genres (some genres that I don’t even usually touch) I think I can safely say that this isn’t going to be a really high point season for me.

Sure there are tons of great additional seasons coming out for a lot of the pre-existing series and franchises, however in terms of new series, a lot of it falls short and many series won’t be getting as much attention due to popular hype over shows like Kuroko no Basket, Durarara and Tokyo Ghoul (all well-deserved hype) I might add.

Azusa ThinkingSo I thought to myself, what should I do this season? Should I focus more on manga? Or hauls? Or rants? Perhaps photography? But before I make any final decisions for this upcoming season I’d like to touch base with all of you who are following my blog or watching my videos… what new shows are you guys watching?

My current anime series include… Death Parade, Absolute Duo (tentatively depending on the fan service), Binan Koukou Chikyuubouebi Love (for the hilarity), The Rolling Girls, iDOLM@STER, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, Shirobako and Akatsuki no Yona (reviews currently backlogged due to new series). You guys already know where my tastes generally lie judging from previous seasons and the list above.

Now, if there’s any new shows that are awesome that I might have missed, please let me know in the poll and also remember to vote for what series you’d like to see reviews or videos on since there are two polls below…

January’s been a pretty hectic and crazy season for me. I flew back from Hong Kong and immediately had exams after I returned to the UK… not to mention that the second academic term for me starts literally the day after my exams finish…

As a result I dropped behind on a few pilot impressions which I apologize for missing some or posting late. However, I did realize that many of the series just didn’t particularly jump out at me. Some are too ecchi for my taste or the art style differs from my usual preferences. If all goes well throughout the season, you guys can probably expect Manga Mondays to return because I am REALLY trying to plan in more time for manga. I know I say this a lot but this season I am really going to make those MM videos come back. It’s always on my mind after all… Aside from that, one video will be coming every week ehh sometime during the week whenever I find time between all my commitments to school and extra-curriculars.

Once again, the blog post will be updated regularly and as frequently as possible because I am foremost a blogger I think… and blogging does really help me unwind. Aside from that, thank you all for checking in with me for this month’s update and I will talk to you guys very soon in my next video or blog post.

Absolute Duo Episode 2 Review

Rating: 3/5 complacent clouds The co-ed duo is the talk of the school right now… Julie’s European tendencies don’t make this any better. Her diction needs to be less suggestive LOL but her Japanese is decent nonetheless. The rundown… People … Continue reading

Absolute Duo Episode 1 First Impressions

Rating: 3.5/5 curiously excited clouds On first glance the opening scenes seem pretty regular, it almost reminds me of the opening scenes of Clannad when the students are standing at the bottom of the hill and cherry blossoms are blowing. … Continue reading
