Hi everyone! I thought I’d do a quickie post before bed.
I wanted to share with you all today my little collection of Amensia mini figure keychains that I’ve been collecting for a while now. I have Shin from the Hearts route, Kent from the Clovers route, Toma from the Diamond route and Ukyo from the Joker route. I keep rolling Gatchapon in an attempt to get Ikki but instead I got doubles of both Shin and Kent. But anyway, here is my set so far, hopefully I can get my hands on Ikki soon and complete my collection.
Speaking of Amnesia… I did come across these in Japan…
I swear I took like ten photos hugging Shin in ten different ways. As chill as my dad is with my otaku-ness, he probably thought I was insane.
I hope you girls liked this post. Don’t forget to hit like if you want more of these and comment below on your favourite character from Amnesia >///<
What are you pondering today?
Hey guys! I hope your Septembers are off to a great start. A lot seems to be happening this month. Some of the summer season anime series are finishing. Some new fall season series are beginning. New manga is being released. New soundtracks will be out soon. September is a month of beginnings! The only downside of September’s beginnings is… yeah, you guessed it. School.
Well, for many of you guys who are going back to your ol’ school routine, starting high school, university or college, I have some great tips coming soon for you otakus who are dreading the new year cause it’s a lot less manga and anime and a lot more studying.
For many of your who are familiar with my regular review rhythm, you know how much I like to stick on schedule but unfortunately, there’s a lot to plan before school starts. I’m settling into my new house (with no internet at the moment)… I literally have to sit next to the window to get the university’s internet signal from the school building next door or I won’t be able to upload posts. So between camping out at cafes for internet, working the anime club table to promote this year’s activities (I’m in charge of public relations) and trying to fend for myself in terms of living on my own/with my new housemate, I’ve really got my hands full.
Fret not! I have many new reviews coming your way all the time and there will be a lot more Light Otaku Living themed posts soon. Also, I am currently trying to organize my blog so that it’s easier to navigate in terms of topic-searching. You’ll notice that there are a lot more categories down the left-hand bar but as always, the search bar is fail-safe (hopefully). If you guys like what you see and you want more reviews and otaku rants, don’t forget to thumbs up your favourite posts and follow me through email or wordpress for new stuff coming every day.
Don’t’ forget to check out my fall season picks for something new to look out for!
Thank you guys so much for reading and sticking with me! I’m sure I will talk to you guys soon!

Ah… summer… lying in your backyard, cool glass of lemonade, anime playing on laptop or manga in hand; what better way to spend the hot days lazying the hours away? Though it still gets pretty rainy around Toronto – and … Continue reading
So you’re stuck on a plane, in a car on a train… and you’re a bored Otaku. WHAT DO YOU DO?!?! Well, if you’ve brought along your trusty body pillow with your favourite anime character, I’m sure that makes for very colourful conversation. However, if you’re like me and you like to travel light, here are a few ideas for you guys to get through those long travel hours.
1) Load up on music!
What better way to spend 20 hours isolated in a seat than to spend it in a world of anime music? Make a LOONNNGG playlist of your favourite tunes, slip on some nice headphones, hoodie up, and be a hermit for the next little while.
Face it, if you’re hauling your ass to the airport at six in the morning for an early flight, you’re going to knock out as soon as you get onto the plane. Bring your favourite anime plushie to keep you cozy… no, not the giant Miku doll that requires an extra passenger seat (and ticket). Maybe a little mudkip, (or if you’re me, bring your favourite Sebastian doll <3)
Do not. And I repeat. Do not. Bring all your manga wherever you’re going. I know it seems like a good idea when you’re powering through 50+ novels of Naruto on the train, but books weigh A TON and with the extra shopping you might do over your trip, you might exceed your baggage weight or quantity. If you’re really desperate to read manga on your trip, load your manga onto an tablet, eReader and laptop. It’s a weightless way to bring along your favourite stories while saving space all at the same time.
This covers a wide variety of things… It’s great if you have a sibling or travelling with a friend and you’ve both got a DS or game console; hours of fun racing with Super Mario Brothers or miscellaneous party games. If you’re bringing a laptop, the free time traveling in between destinations is a great time to power through an entire visual novel… or clear all the levels in Touhou.
I’ve found that the best time to write is when it’s dark, everyone’s asleep and you get in the zone with pen and paper, or keys and laptop screen. Write some fanfiction!! If you’re not much of a writer, bring along a sketchbook, a loaded pencil case and sketch away! You’ll be amazed at how quickly time passes.
I hope I gave you guys a few new ideas to make those endless hours of travel not as exhausting. This piece was probably inspired by my slight claustrophobic and fidgety time on the plane from Toronto to Hong Kong. I have horrible internet here which is why I haven’t been posting as often but I’m trying my best! Thank you guys so much for reading and I will talk to you guys soon!
